About

Hi, my name is John Prior and I’ve been worship drummer for 30 years. I’ve played in just about every kind of scenario that you can think of. This blog is designed to give tips and ideas on how to be the best worship drummer you can be. For the time being most of the blogs will be a combination of text and photographs. In the future, I hope to add video lessons as well as downloadable MP3 lessons.

  1. Hi John, I was searching online for information about women worship musicians and women worship drummers, and found your site. Oddly, after a life of loving drums and beat but never thinking I could be a drummer, God clearly called me to be a worship drummer. Been taking lessons 14 months, including five months playing only with my left hand due to an injury to my right. I am passionate about drums, drumming, and worship, and strive for excellence and accountability. I’ve favorited your website and look forward to future posts. Thanks! Ann Martin

  2. Hey John,

Love your site! Can’t wait to see more articles. I have been looking for worship drummers to connect with and this website has been a blessing. I am also out of Arizona and play at the Refinery in Goodyear. I would love to exchange emails as I have been searching for a place for drummers from AZ, SW region, all regions nationally have to connect and discuss faith and drums! I love your idea of posting lessons and videos. Looking forward to them all! God Bless You!

    1. Thank you so much for the encouraging words. I hope to do more in the future, but life has been putting obstacles in my way. Please take a look at the Risen Drums web site to find more details on The Drumset & The Kingdom events. This is an awesome way to get connected to worship drummers from all over the country. I hope they bring this event to the South West in the future. Please feel free to send me messages here & let me know if there are every any ways I can be of help. I want this site to be a source of knowledge & encouragement. Blessings, John
